Participation of Prof. Dr. Mesut Özcan in a workshop with Turkish and Sudanese academics and researchers

Prof. Dr. Özcan pointed out the importance of addressing the issue academically, and expressed his belief that this workshop, which was hosted by the University of Khartoum, one of the most well-established educational institutions in Sudan, and which is considered to be useful in terms of keeping the methodological problems regarding the perception of Turks in Sudanese textbooks based on a certain period of the Ottoman Empire on the agenda and focusing the attention of Sudanese academics on this issue, will be instrumental in correcting some misperceptions, and that it is not possible to address and finalize the issue with only one workshop and that the active participation of Turkish and Sudanese students working in the field of history is important for sustainability.

During his visit to Khartoum, Prof. Dr. Özcan held meetings with the International African University and Nahda College and discussed cooperation opportunities between these institutions and our Diplomacy Academy.
