Training Program for the Senior South Sudanese Diplomats (2015)

31 October - 9 November, 2015 Ankara/Istanbul

The Academy organized a one-week training program for a delegation of 10 senior South Sudanese diplomats. As part of the program, various conferences were held and visits were made in Ankara, followed by the delegation visiting historic and cultural hotspots of Istanbul.

The first stage of the program included conferences delivered by Ministry officials and academicians on topics such as Bilateral Relations with South Sudan, Turkish Foreign Policy towards Africa, Economic Diplomacy, Conflict Resolution Analysis, Mediation, Crisis Management and Peace Building, Negotiation Techniques and General Protocol Rules.

The delegation also visited Ataturk’s Mausoleum, Prime Ministry Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, Prime Ministry Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Diplomatic Archives Building and Yunus Emre Institute. These institutions delivered presentations on their organizational structures and operations.

The second stage of the program took place in Istanbul, where the delegation enjoyed first-hand experience of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and Galata Tower.
