Training Program for Junior Diplomats from OTS Member States

A training program for junior diplomats working in the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States was organized by the Diplomacy Academy between 13-18 November 2023. A total of seven diplomats from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, Turkmenistan and TRNC participated in the program. The first four days of the program were devoted to professional training in Ankara, while the last two days were spent in Istanbul for cultural activities.

Within the framework of the training program, presentations titled "Turkish Foreign Policy in Global and Regional Context", "Current Trends in Global Economy and Trade", "New Initiatives in Asia", "Türkiye's Migration and Refugee Policies", "The Place of Turkic States in Türkiye’s Central Asia Policies", "Turkish Foreign Policy on Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean Problem", "1915 Events and Turkish-Armenian Debates in History", "Public Diplomacy and Social Media Use", "Energy Diplomacy" and "Türkiye in the United Nations/United Nations System and Multilateral Diplomacy" were made to the delegation with the valuable contributions of the relevant units of our Ministry.

In the program, the importance of "Ensuring Peace and Security in our Region", "Increasing Prosperity", "Establishing Further Cooperation with Existing International Organizations" and "Participation in International and Regional Organizations", which are among the goals of our foreign policy in 2023, when we start the second century of our Republic, which is called the "Century of Turkey", was emphasized. In this context, information was provided on international trade and economy, initiatives for new openings in Asia, "360-degree Diplomacy", a positive agenda with win-win diplomacy, Türkiye’s migration and refugee policy, the power of public diplomacy and social media, the declaration of 2023 as the "Turkish Era" at the Organization of Turkic States Summit.

Within the scope of the training program, the delegation visited TIKA on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 and received information about the activities of the organization abroad. Ankara part of the training program ended with the certificate ceremony held on November 16, 2023, and the training program was completed with visits to various historical and cultural sites in Istanbul on 17-18 November 2023.
