Protocol Training for Surinamese Diplomats

The Academy organized a one-week protocol training for a delegation of 3 Surinamese diplomats on 12-18 March 2017, in Ankara and Istanbul. As part of the program, various conferences were held and visits were made in Ankara, followed by the delegation enjoying historic hotspots of Istanbul.

The first stage of the program included conferences delivered by Ministry officials and Retired Ambassador Ercan Özer on "Bilateral Relations with Surinam"; "History of Protocol, Protocol Rules in General and Etiquette (Greeting, Dress Codes, Courtesy and Manners, Precedence)", "Protocol at Parties, Dinners and Receptions, Official Visits (Presidents, Prime Ministers and Ministers)", Protocol at Official Ceremonies (Precedence, Flag Protocol, National Anthems, Letter of Credence)" and "Organization of International Meetings".

The delegation also visited Ataturk’s Mausoleum and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Ankara.

The second stage of the program took place in Istanbul, where the delegation enjoyed first-hand experience of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, and Dolmabahçe Palace.
