International Junior Diplomats Training Program
April 01-24, 2013 Ankara, Nevşehir, Konya ve İstanbul
19th International Junior Diplomats Training Program, organized in Ankara, Nevşehir (Cappadocia), Konya and Istanbul, gathered diplomats from 66 countries.
During this three-week training program diplomats attended seminars and conferences on vocational subjects given both by officials from the Ministry as well as academics from leading universities of Turkey. Participants also had a chance to get acquainted with Turkish arts and music.
Attendees also visited certain institutions playing a role in Foreign Policy making process, such as Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Turkish Coordination and Development Agency (TİKA), Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and Prime Ministry Public Diplomacy Coordination Office.
Throughout the Training Program guest diplomats had the opportunity to visit; Cappadocia in Nevşehir, Çatalhöyük -a Neolithic city added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2012- in Konya, and Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, Dolmabahçe Palace and Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. Diplomats also visited Sabancı University Tuzla Campus and went on a Bosporus tour.
