Turkic Council Junior Diplomats 5th Joint Training Program

25 June- 7 July 2018 - Ankara

Turkic Council Junior Diplomats 5th Joint Training Program organized in cooperation with our Academy and the Secretariat of the Turkic Council was held on 25 June- 7 July with the participation of 22 young diplomats from 5 countries. The training program included short-term study visits to the provinces of Ankara, Kastamonu, Istanbul.

Junior Diplomats Joint Training Program was included in the activities of the Turkic Council in accordance with the Cooperation Protocol among the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, signed at the Third Summit of the Turkic Council. In this framework, First, Second, Third and Fourth Junior Diplomats Joint Training Programs were organized in Turkey on 13-25 April 2014, in Azerbaijan on 1-15 March 2015, in Kazakhstan on 23 May-5 June 2016, and in Kyrgyzstan on 3-16 July 2017 respectively.

Within the scope of the program organized for the 2nd time in our country, conferences for the young diplomats were delivered on the topics of general diplomacy, general Turkish history, the law of international organizations, negotiation skills as well as the Turkish foreign policy.

The junior diplomats paid visits to Ataturk’s Mausoleum, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination and Agency (TİKA) and TURKSOY during their term in Ankara. Within the scope of the cultural site visits as a part of the organization, junior diplomats seized the opportunity of visiting Atatürk’s Memorial, Martyr Şerife Bacı, Lithography-Handicrafts Bazaar, İsmailbey Complex, Pir Şeyh Şaban-ı Veli Complex, Liva Pasha Mansion, Ethnography Museum, Architect Vedat Tek Cultural and Art Centre, Archeology Museum, Clock Tower, Yakupağa Complex and Mahmut Bey Mosque in the village of Kasaba which is on UNESCO’s Tentative List of World Heritage Sites in Kastamonu province which is declared as the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World 2018 and, Süleymaniye Mosque, Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia Museum, Dolmabahçe Palace, the Basilica Cistern and the Grandbazaar in Istanbul.
