Training Program for the Ethiopian Diplomats (2017)

September 17-24, 2017 Ankara/Istanbul

The Academy organized a one-week training program for a delegation of 9 Ethiopian diplomats on 17-24 September 2017, in Ankara and Istanbul. As part of the program, various conferences were held and visits were made in Ankara, followed by the delegation enjoying historic hotspots of Istanbul.

The first stage of the program included conferences delivered by Ministry officials, retired ambassadors and academicians on Turkey's Bilateral Relations with Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Regional Framework of Turkish Foreign Policy, Turkish Foreign Policy towards Africa, Turkey’s Transboundary Waters Policy, Global and Environmental Diplomacy and Turkey’s Cooperation Policies, International Water Law and Transboundary Waters and Conflict Resolution.

The delegation also visited Ataturk’s Mausoleum, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs General Directorate of Water Management and Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works. These institutions delivered presentations on their organizational structures and operations.

The second stage of the program took place in Istanbul, where the delegation visited Turkish Water Institute and enjoyed first-hand experience of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, and Dolmabahçe Palace.
