Training and Study Trip to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for Newly-Recruited Career (54th Term) and Consular Expertise (8th Term) Officers

Diplomacy Academy organized a training and study trip to the TRNC for newly-recruited Career and Consular officers in our Ministry on 27-29 June 2018 as part of their preparatory training.

Young diplomats had the opportunity to visit Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the TRNC and Turkish Embassy as well as cultural and historical places.

Within the scope of the trip; our officers came together with prominent figures played vital roles in Cyprus negotiation process such as TRNC Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay, former Speaker of Parliament and Prime Minister Hakkı Atun and former Chief Negotiator Ergün Olgun.

Lefkoşa, Girne, Gazimağusa, Closed City of Maraş, Derinya and Lokmacı Border Gates, Green Line, Middle East Technical University Campus, Near East University Campus, Geçitköy Dam, Peace and Freedom Monument and Karaoğlanoğlu Martyrdom, The Museum of Barbarism, Dr. Fazıl Küçük Museum and Mausoleum and Boğaz Martyrdom were among the places visited.
